Johns Hopkins Institute of Health and Social Policy

2018

Context

After a year of new leadership, it was time for the Institute for Health and Social Policy, an organization at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, to update its brand strategy and create a new website on the School’s platform. Our team for this project was a senior comms strategist, copywriter, and project manager.

Challenge

The Institute’s limited internal capacity for communications management meant the new website needed to meet the Institute’s marketing goals now and into the future and also be extremely manageable on the back end. We also needed to create a new website on an existing web platform that offered limited design and development capabilities.

Approach

Start with brand strategy training and coaching with the leadership team. Then create a right-sized website in perfect alignment with the client’s updated brand, communications priorities, and comms capacity.

Solution

We crafted a brand messaging guide for use by the entire leadership and administrative team. Then we used this to guide our content strategy for the new website. We overhauled the website’s structure and user experience (UX) and wrote all new and primarily evergreen web content.

“I appreciated the time and attention that Nancy and the Asana Consulting team showed in creating branding content and the new website for my organization. ”
